CodeFormer

CodeFormer is an online restoration workspace for aging portraits and scanned family photos. It combines face detail recovery with cleanup for blur, digital noise, scratches, folds, and faded tones, and can optionally colorize monochrome images. The aim is to make old pictures easier to preserve and share while keeping the people and original composition recognizable. A daily free restoration is available without signup and downloads are watermark-free. Paid plans provide more processing capacity, higher-resolution output, and commercial options. Results depend on the original scan: severe motion blur or missing facial areas may not be recoverable, so compare the restored image with the source before keeping it.
