Hidewell

Hidewell is an encrypted vault for personal photos, videos and documents on iPhone and Android. Your pattern unlocks a key tied to your phone's security chip (Secure Enclave on iPhone, StrongBox on Android). Every guess has to run through that chip, one at a time, so a copy of your storage or your cloud backup can't be used to try every pattern on a fast computer. Each pattern opens its own vault, and there is no vault list on screen or on disk. A secure camera encrypts photos and video as you shoot, straight into the vault. Videos play from the encrypted file, decrypted a piece at a time. Albums and tags keep things organised, and originals (Live Photos, RAW, HEIC) stay at full quality. Encrypted backups go to your own iCloud Drive or Google Drive and are keyed from a 12-word recovery phrase, never from your pattern. Pro adds more vaults, a duress pattern, alternate icons and LiveSync. No account, no analytics, and no connection to our servers. The crypto core is open source, with a published security review.
